TOWNSHEND PODIUM LOUDSPEAKER PLATFORMS Will these speaker isolation devices elevate Martin’s listening and have him floating on air? It’s not quite as simple as that...
CHORD ELECTRONICS ANNI Designed as a desktop companion for the Qutest DAC, this tiny 10W amplifier is ideal for personal listening. But there’s rather more to it than that
FINKTEAM KIM REVISITED Martin liked these innovative speakers so much, he bought a pair – and the production version is even better
KUDOS SUPER 20A The result of extensive development, this compact floorstanding speaker more than lives up to its Super title
QOBUZ CHEZ COLLOMS How Martin has discovered the joys of streaming his music
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO MOTIONAL FEEDBACK? Once heralded as a major speaker breakthrough, MFB has all but faded into obscurity. Keith Howard explains why

Magazine should be shipping in the next week or so, though deliveries to the EU may be subject to delays due to the VAT regulations and associated admin charges. We're working on ways of resolving this situation. |

Ok, many thanks. We are now experiencing major delays (e.g. 1 month) and VAT and duty charges on all products coming from UK! A digital edition would be great.

Has the latest issue been posted out?
If Martin or Andrew could reply to my email, it would be appreciated. As usual, my auto subscription payment came out in October, but it requires you to send me a top-up invoice, which I haven't yet received.
Thanks
Oliver

Oliver I'm afraid I can't answer your questions, as Martin deals with all the magazine distribution and subscriptions, etc. I'll drop him a mail alerting him to your post, in case he hasn't seen it. Regards A |

Dear Readers
Please accept our apologies
A perfect storm which we finally were not able to stave off, namely delayed printing, and delayed mail out, domestic and international, EU VAT imposition and late production.
Copies are in the mail system and should now begin to clear.
Even my own proof copy has not arrived and I can almost see the printers with binoculars! Kind regards
Martin

Delayed oct-dec issue HIFICRITIC
Our sincerest apologies to many of our subscribers who have not received the latest issue Oct-Dec 2021. On investigation, while we delivered them into the UK Royal Mail postal system on a trade order bulk mail out in the third week of December, (partly due to printer backlogs) it appears that our mail bags have been dumped with many tons of other mail in a pile at the Royal Mail London despatch office. They explain that short staffing and Covid has made things worse. It is said that several weeks may remain before the backlog is cleared and finally delivered. After waiting nearly six weeks with no result and no communication from Royal Mail we have ordered a reprint of the issue, which we now have completed, and we are mailing the issue out for the second time. It is only a guess, but we hope these will be nearer the top of the pile and that you will receive your copy soon.

Sounds very stressful! As a small operation, it must have been a hard choice to make but one that I hope others subscribers also appreciate and aren’t giving you a hard time over. I would prefer a delayed magazine rather than you have to make a decision that takes the magazine under. I hope the stress hasn’t stopped you enjoying your system!

Well worth the wait. My favourite article was Kevin Fiske's "Going to Ground" I couldn't help smiling at "...WWII bombs are encountered surprisingly frequently in the UK.." Then came "I had four 100m diameter vertical holes...bored" Three of which were 1.6m [million ?] metres from the hub. A groundbreaking endeavour of truly epic proportions. It answered almost all my questions on the subject Edited by user 06 February 2022 18:35:13(UTC)
